
IBDIPC (International Business Development and Investment Promotion Center) coordinated study visit organization for Georgian Stakeholders in France during 3-8 October. It was arranged within the framework of international project “Black Sea Geographical Indication Network” (BS GIN – BSB 1191). The major goal of the visit was to make familiar with production of GI products in France and existing experience in the sphere of registration and regulation of GI products.
In study Visit was participating representatives of project partner countries – Georgia, Turkey, Romania. Georgian delegation was represented by – IBDIPC, Ajara Tourism Industry Federation (TIFA), Wine Cellar “Maretely Friends”, Tourism Association of Guria (TAG), Company “Hermes”.
The study visit was organized by company კომპანია Alsace Business Brokers SAS and it included the Alsace region (around Strasbourg city) locations – various producers, institutions etc. During the study tour following major organizations / locations were visited:

- INAO (National Institute of Origin and Quality) – Tour partiicpants get insight in issue of registration of GI products in France, its regulatory framework, coopration between private sector associations and government sector, Quality management issues etc.
- European Council – it was arraned the meeting with Represantitives of Regional Development Departmnet of EuroParliament and Department of Democracty and governance of Euopean Council.
- GI product producers – Munster cheese producer company HAXIARE, French Whisku producer – Distillerie Miclo, Wine producer – Chateau de Riquewihr Domaines DOPFF et IRION, Famous producer of Foie Gras – Lucien Doriath, Producer of marinated vegetables – Choucroute d’Alsace Pic, და ა.შ.
- Also the tour included Wine route of Alsace region and around this route was visited various important Agro-tourism locations – Colmar city, one of the most beautiful vilalges in Frnace – – Riquewihr, Eguisheim, Castle – Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg)
The projects partners – Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA) (Turkey), the organization TEHNOPOL (Romania) and IBDIPC (International Business Development and Investment Promotion Center). The project is implemented within the framework of the EU ENI Black Sea Basin Cooperation Program.
