Black Sea Festival “SUNRISE” was held in Batumi during 23-24 October, within the framework of the international project SUNRISE (BSB 521), with the support of the EU Black Sea Basin Program. The project is implemented in cooperation with organizations from four countries – Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova. Festival organizer – IBDIPC (Center for International Business Development and Investment Promotion).
The aim of the festival was to promote the development of tourism, to present local products, local handicrafts and culture.
The festival was held on main square of the city and more than 60 small producers and farmers took part. They were from the various municipalities of Adjara regions and presented the following products:
- handmade, traditional handicrafts
- Wine and locally made spirits – Local small wine cellars and farmers
- Honey and honey products
- Milk products, local foods / sweets
- Tea, dried fruits, jam etc.
The Festival visitors (both batumi citizen and tourists) had an unique opportunity – to make familiar, attend detestations (tea, honey, wine etc.) and buy local products, handicrafts and make familiar local culture and traditions.
During the festival it was presented also photo exhibition – “Batumi in Cinema” highlighting the cultural potential of city, its unique cultural heritage (photographer Shota Gujabidze)
